William H. Faust Sr., 88, of Drums, passed away on Saturday morning at the Mtn. City Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born in Hazleton on October 4, 1924, he was a son of the late Daniel J. and Eva (Yeager) Faust and a lifelong area resident.
Shortly after graduating from Hazleton High School in 1942, Bill enlisted in the military and served with the Army Air Corp during WWII.
Until his retirement, Bill worked for many years as an assembler at Dorr Oliver in Hazleton.
A member of Faith UCC, he was, in earlier years, an avid bowler, and in leisure time enjoyed woodworking and spending time outdoors gardening and camping.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mildred Beers, Clara Knorr and Thelma Sacco.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, the former Alice A. Eroh; sons, William H. Faust Jr. and his wife Mary of Conyngham and Warren P. Faust and his wife Gail of Bloomsburg; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
No viewing is planned. Rev. Dr. M. Jane Hess will offer prayers of committal at an interment service that will take place in the St. Johns Lutheran and UCC Cemetery on Tuesday at 1 PM.
